There are essentially two different levels of alcohol and drug addiction treatment: Inpatient; and Outpatient treatment. In inpatient addiction treatment, clients remain in the treatment environment 24-hours per day for the entirety of the treatment period. In outpatient addiction treatment, clients receive treatment, one to several times per week, for a period of time, but they do not live in the addiction treatment setting.
