Flea medication overdose!?
Some idiot in my household gave a flea treatment for a 23-44 lb dog to a 4 month old kitten. I rinsed it off right away. Scott gave it to him like 20 minutes ago. So far he’s acting fine. What do I do?
Wash it immediately with a mild soap (dawn dish soap if you have some)! Watch for any lethargy and call your vet right away if he is showing signs of a reaction. Check the pupils, watch for foaming at the mouth, things like that.
What drug is used most common in overdoing with concerns toward suicide?
Just to curious, out of all the drugs in a normal household medicine cabinet what is the drug most likely used for overdosing?
the most common one i see is tylenol………but i.ve never seen anyone die immediately or shortly after od.ing on it……..they just end up in the hospital, miserable and having someone watch their every move, even in the bathroom until they get cleared by a psych doc….as long as you are deemed a danger to yourself, docs get to make decisions for you…….gross smelling meds have to be taken to save someone from liver damage that od.ing on tylenol can cause……..don.t do it…..its the most useless thing to od on….
Whats the easiest pill to overdose, and die fast and painless?? ?
i want to fucking die, whats the best pill, household pill, ….. and for xmas… my parents shall find me dead… with "merry christmas" written on my arm. big in black… because i will kill myself when mother says goodnight n tells me to go to bed on xmas eve…. nd in the morning they will find me silently, peacefully, dead in my bed……….
You shouldn’t kill yourself, you should take counseling. There is always one person in your life that you can go to help for.
Can taking too much of a household medicine, like Tylenol, DayQuill, Robitussin, etc. be lethal?
Could you also tell me approximately how long after the overdose the medicine(s) would kill you? Also, if none of the above names can kill when taken to much of, can you name some that are?
I’m writing an essay…
Thanks :]
Absolutely it can. For example, taking more than 4000mg (8 500 mg tablets) of Tylenol a day can cause permanent liver damage and lead to overdose. Always take medicine as directed by a pharmacist or physician. All medications taken over the counter can be lethal if taken in to high of a dose.
Water soluble vitamins, like vitamin C are very hard to overdose on, but it is possible.
what household drug would kill you fastest?
I know that you can die from overdosing on almost any drug but which ones kill you fastest? and how much would you have to take of them? (p.s. i am asking as i’m studying science not because i’m suicidal!)
Paracetamol and codine overdoes, unless you have tramadol but thats unlikly to have in the house. x
Snorting Heroin Leads To The Needle / Educational PSA Video
Snorting Heroin Leads To The Needle / Educational PSA Video. Public Service Announcement in the public domain. Heroin (Diacetylmorphine) Information: Heroin is the common name of a substance known by the chemical name, diacetylmorphine. Heroin is synthesized from morphine, and morphine is synthesized from opium produced by the plant known by the botanical name Papaver Somniferum (common name opium poppy). Rather than being a different drug, heroin is a method of preparing morphine so that it is absorbed more efficiently by the human body, when injected. If heroin is injected into a human, more morphine will reach the brain than it would if the same amount of morphine were injected. Injecting about 5mg of heroin will produce the same results as injecting 10mg of morphine. Heroin can also be snorted, smoked, or taken orally. However, these other routes of administration are not recommended. They are not as efficient and most of the drug is wasted. If you are not going to inject heroin, an equal amount of morphine will produce similar results. When it is not injected, the heroin is usually totally metabolized by the human body before it can affect the amount of morphine that reaches the brain. So the effects of heroin are nearly the same as an equivalent amount of morphine when snorted, smoked, or taken orally. The time it takes to feel the effects depends on the method of administration. Snorting heroin results in onset within 10-15 minutes. Smoking heroin results in an almost immediate (milder) effect which gets stronger if more is smoked in that particular session. Intravenous injection results in rush and euphoria within 7-8 seconds, intramuscular injection takes about 5-8 minutes. Orally, as when heroin or morphine are ingested in pill form, it can take 60-90 minutes to feel anything. The primary effects of morphine (the main active ingredient in heroin) are a cessation or reduction of pain and/or a euphoric and content feeling. Heroin and morphine use almost always causes constipation, thinking may be slower, and a user may feel nausea or vomit. Opioid itch, an itch caused by taking an opium based drug, may be present. Another physical effect of morphine is respiratory system depression. This makes it an excellent cough suppressant. It is also usually the cause of death in a heroin or morphine overdose. According to the 1996 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse, an estimated 2.4 million people in the USA used heroin at some time in their lives. Nearly 216,000 of them reported using it within the month preceding the survey. The survey report estimates that there were 141,000 new heroin users in 1995, and that there had been an increasing trend in new heroin use since 1992. A large proportion of the recent new users were smoking, snorting/sniffing heroin, and most were under age 26. The 1996 Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN), which collects data on drug-related hospital emergency department episodes from 21 metropolitan areas, estimates that 14 percent of all drug-related ED episodes involved heroin. Physical dependence develops with higher doses of the drug. With physical dependence, the body adapts to the presence of the drug and withdrawal symptoms occur if use is reduced abruptly. Symptoms of withdrawal include restlessness, muscle and bone pain, insomnia, diarrhea, vomiting, cold flashes with goose bumps, and leg movements. Major withdrawal symptoms peak between 24 and 48 hours after the last dose of heroin and subside after about a week. Heroin withdrawal is never fatal to otherwise healthy adults, but the psychological effects can be so bad that the user might kill themself, rather than going through withdrawl. To avoid physical addiction heroin should be used once every four days, maximum. If you take it on friday, wait till tuesday or later before doing it again. If you can limit your use to once every four days, physical addiction and tolerance problems are minimized. You will not require larger doses to produce the same results.

BIPOLAR Disorder, What do you do when the Father of the household doesnt realize he is manic?
My dad doesnt get the fact that hes manic. He knows when he is depressed. This is the 6th year of this. Hes had many episodes and swings. Now my parents are separated and my dad attempted suicide by overdosing on pills 3 months ago.
Anyone with experience, please help
1st, I am so sorry you are going through this. I lived w/a bipolar husband for almost 20 years.
It is not fun. Is he seeing a doctor for this? If he is or isn’t try to find a support group for yourself for those living with this, don’t isolate yourself.
When in a manic state they feel like they are on top of the world so everything seems a okay to them.
Most of all know that this is his problem & has nothing to do with anything you have or have not done.
what household medicines can cause death if someone overdoses?
all of them can if taken in lethal doses
