Should children with mental disease have to take prescription drugs or should there be other alternatives?

While I am writing paper on this subject and I was just wondering what others have to say about it. So what do you think? Should doctors just give children with mental diseases prescription drugs that they need to take for life and sometimes can cause deaths or should there be alternatives?

Well theres a reason there isnt a black n white yes or no answer… some mental diseases need drugs to stay alive/ function at all.. some need to remain calm physicaly.. definitely meds are administered when they shouldnt be but it DEFINITELY depends on what is wrong with the person.. maybe instead of saying there should always be a better alternative try to figure out which diseases NEED medicine and which do not.
