How long after my last dose of lortab do I need to wait to take suboxone?

I have been on lortab for a couple of months for a knee injury. I have a couple suboxone’s but need to know how long to wait before taking it so I don’t go into precipitated withdrawal! Any help is very appreciated!

Using suboxone to come off of a few months of hydrocodone is certainly over kill, but here’s the deal.

Wait until you are in moderate to severe withdrawal…which if you take your last dose of lortab at bedtime, by noon the next day you would be fine to take the sub.

However, keep this in mind. Suboxone is 50 times stronger than morphine, and a 2 mg dose of sub would be plenty. Keep your sub use real light and short, like 1 week, and it will help. If you use bigger doses or stay on it longer, the withdrawal will be 10 times worse.
