She Felt Alive And Beautiful Again ~Jelena/Justlena One Shot~ *Part 1/3*
It was a cold December night in Lemont, Illinois. Snow was falling outside the treatment center, blanketing the grounds with a beautiful, smooth layer of white fluff. There was no movement anywhere outside and that much less inside as most of the girls were fast asleep in their rooms. Doctors were making their nightly rounds to check on everyone.
“Selena, are you all right?”
Selena Gomez looked away from the winter wonderland outside of her room’s only window and up into the face of her care giver there at the center. She wore a pair of comfortable looking pajamas. Her short brown hair hung not styled around her heart shaped face.
“I’m fine,” Selena said quietly, her voice cracking. She hadn’t spoken in a couple of hours.
“Try to get to sleep soon, okay? Just call the back if you can’t and they’ll bring you some medicine.”
The doctor backed out, leaving Selena once again alone in her solitude. It was December twenty-third. Well, for the next hour at least. It was nearly midnight, and in less than sixty minutes it would be Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve in rehab.
What had she become?
Tears stung the corners of her eyes, and because she was completely alone, she allowed them to roll down her cheeks. She didn’t even attempt to wipe them away. Bringing her knees up to her chest, Selena looked up at the dark clouds spilling the white down on them. If only she was with her friends, with the ones she loves. In the morning her and her friends could run outside, make a snowman and just have fun with each other. Was it even snowing in Dallas? She had no idea.
A soft knock sounded from across the room.
That was odd. No doctor ever knocked. Well, they did in the mornings just in case the girls were changing and in need of privacy. Usually they just walked right in.
Who was knocking on her door at eleven thirty at night?
Selena didn’t want to get up, but she figured it was one of her many friends she’d made since her arrival two months ago. Pulling her loose fitting shirt out of habit, she walked barefoot over the soft beige carpet and reached forward to open the door.
The person on the other side was not at all who she expected.
He wore a pair of tight fitting, artfully faded blue jeans. His black sweater was peppered with melting snowflakes; as was his hair, cropped short around the sides with a bit longer on top styled into a slight Mohawk. His hazel eyes were glowing brightly beneath thick black eyebrows.
“Justin?” Selena whispered.
Selena stared in utter awe at her ex-boyfriend. The one she’d hidden all of her inner demons and detrimental flaws from since they’d met three years ago, and since they’d decided to date through the course of their beautiful relationship. Through the four months she was his, she’d never felt so sure of herself. To have someone love her for her, not her body or the way she looked, but for how beautiful she was on the inside was life altering. She knew what she needed in a relationship. He had given it to her and more.
But great things couldn’t last, could they?
“Selena,” Justin breathed, stepping inside the room without asking for permission. He closed the door behind him; her limp on the handle did nothing to halt him. It fell limply to her side as she continued to stare.
He let his eyes go up and down her body, taking in every inch. It was then that she realized how bare she was. All she wore was a baggy, loose fitting t-shirt (one of his she’d had since they’d been dating), a pair of black lace panties and a matching bra underneath. The end of the shirt barely covered her butt. Her long, glorious legs were on full display for him, a hint of the curve of her bottom, and one shoulder and black bra strap where the too-large neckline of the shirt fell off her left shoulder.
“Justin, what are you doing here?”
“I had to come see you,” Justin mumbled, moving to sit on the edge of her bed. For a rehabilitation center, the bed was very nice. “I’ve been going insane. The rumors going around, saying that me breaking up with you put you in here, and that I’m a horrible person. Did, Did I put you in here?”
“Justin, no,” Selena said gently, moving to sit next to him. “I’ve been damaged since long before I met you. It’s just that I finally lost control. I needed to get help, and my parents finally made me realize that. The months that we dated were quite possibly some of the best of my life.”
“B-But when I ended it, it drove you towards your breakdown,” Justin stated in a shaking voice. He’d been troubled by this thought since he’d first found out she was quitting the tour and for what reason.
