Hey, it’s Trish. We’ve had many questions about overcoming substance addiction without using methadone. To some, methadone is using a drug to treat a drug addiction, and some find it very addictive.

There are many treatment options available, such as residential treatment and group support. Many relapse after they leave the controlled environment of residential treatment. Others fail with group support because sometimes you can’t talk yourself out of an addiction. There are physiological aspects that need to be addressed.

November 10th, 2011-Two men got into a fight during an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting held at a church in Baldwin Park. The fight spilled into the parking lot. Thats when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired once. The round didn’t hit the other man who police said was the intended target. The man’s pregnant wife who was sitting in a car was shot instead. She suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is in stable condition.
UPDATE: November 18th, 2011-The woman who was shot in the head has since miscarried.
