Steve Collett Opening Speech at Santa Monica College CA-33 Debate
I am socially liberal, fiscally conservative and green.
Our economy is suffocating from decades of massive deficit spending on programs which do more harm than good. We need to stop wasting tax dollars on foreign military intervention, Wall Street bailouts and failed programs like the War on Drugs. In this era of limitations, there are policy changes where we can be safer and more prosperous by spending less.
Regarding social security, a promise is a promise. We need to live up to those promises and protect against the most important threat to people on fixed incomes by ending massive deficit spending which erodes the value of social security and pension income.
I believe in the rights of individuals to choose who they can marry and what they can do with their own body. I support foreign policy based on trade, not war. I support identifying and
compensating great teachers.
Our congressional district includes the most vibrant people and most beautiful property in the world. I support policies which maximize our air quality, water quality, and environment to make it the best place anywhere to live and work.
I understand people. I understand business. I understand taxation. I am a Certified Public
Accountant with 35 years experience learning who makes money and how they do it. I am a business owner. I have a Masters in Business Taxation from USC and I am a member of UCLA’s Masters in Public Policy Class of 2013.

Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit real estate development organization from the east coast, gives a presentation to the City of Pasadena. They offer recommendations on developing in the Arroyo Seco.
The central Arroyo is already developed but needs care. It’s just that it only needs a little care and repair…maybe a bit of re-naturalizing… not a whole circus added ;;;more on my blog http://mllegramophone.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/speaking-of-central-park-uh-new-york/

The Golden Gate Bridge Suicides ( Full Version: 1hr 34m )
http://thegoldengatebridgesuicides.blogspot.com | http://homebizzone.com/ibs | http://mindwindmill.com/mm/v | Filmmaker Eric Steel was shocked when he first read that an average of 20 people kill themselves by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge every year. He was also amazed by the lack of effort to prevent these suicides. “Most bridges where, or high places, if it’s high enough that it would be a fatal fall, have put up suicide barriers precisely for this reason,” Steel said. He was equally amazed by bridge officials’ response to the suicides. At other tall, iconic structures that had become “suicide magnets,” barriers had been constructed to prevent access to areas where people could jump. Stolen car Crashes on Roof
Residents were stunned when they heard a ‘thud’ on the roof of their Fresno, California apartment block at 1.30 a.m. – and looked outside to see a car parked there.
The driver, who allegedly stole the car from a nearby house, was speeding in foggy conditions when he hit the curb and some rocks, launching the vehicle 20 feet into the air.
The car miraculously landed on the sloped roof of the apartment block, where it came to a standstill.
‘I thought it was an earthquake. I heard the house moving,’ Jeanell Ricks, who was inside the block, told CBS News.
