Steve Collett Opening Speech at Santa Monica College CA-33 Debate
I am socially liberal, fiscally conservative and green.
Our economy is suffocating from decades of massive deficit spending on programs which do more harm than good. We need to stop wasting tax dollars on foreign military intervention, Wall Street bailouts and failed programs like the War on Drugs. In this era of limitations, there are policy changes where we can be safer and more prosperous by spending less.
Regarding social security, a promise is a promise. We need to live up to those promises and protect against the most important threat to people on fixed incomes by ending massive deficit spending which erodes the value of social security and pension income.
I believe in the rights of individuals to choose who they can marry and what they can do with their own body. I support foreign policy based on trade, not war. I support identifying and
compensating great teachers.
Our congressional district includes the most vibrant people and most beautiful property in the world. I support policies which maximize our air quality, water quality, and environment to make it the best place anywhere to live and work.
I understand people. I understand business. I understand taxation. I am a Certified Public
Accountant with 35 years experience learning who makes money and how they do it. I am a business owner. I have a Masters in Business Taxation from USC and I am a member of UCLA’s Masters in Public Policy Class of 2013.

Its time, I am leaving. I must move on now and follow my dreams.
Dear Mali,
You were the first horse I ever loved, the first horse I ever bonded with. You taught me how to ride. You made me fall in love with bareback. You showed me how to trust. You showed me the feeling of galloping bareback and bridleless across a field. You let me have the feeling of being free. You took me to my first show and showed me what it was like to know that all you hard work had payed off. You always gave me your all. You led me to wanting my own horse. I still remember the first time I ever fell off and you stood there to make sure I was ok. I remember the day I first realized that you would wait for me to turn away from the pasture before you did. I remember the 3 month you were lame and over those months our bond grew more than ever. I remember when you went lame the week of our first show, I was devistated and scared but you pulled through for me, I think you knew how much it meant to me to be on you for my first show. And we took second I was so happy. But months later I realized that we couldn’t go any farther together and I stopped riding you. Then when Kenny wasn’t there for me you were. You were there to pick me back up off the floor and showed me how to trust again. It’s been two and a half years since I met you. But now I have to leave. I need to follow my dreams and I know thats what you would want for me. Im sorry for breaking all my promises to you. I will always love Mali. I hope you will never forget me.
Love,
Jenna :’)

Wall Update 3
Here is the update I promised. I don’t think I am going to be able to put the third 18″ in there like I thought. I built the top of the wall and squared it off. I was going to have to add even more angles to get the height I need. This is easier from a construction standpoint, and cheaper. More subs means more power means more batteries. lol If I can squeeze it in I will try but no promises… it would be nice to be in the 50s though.

There are plenty examples of people who have overcome addiction and recovered from substance abuse. The reoccurring theme among these individuals seems to be their approach and attitude.
